Sweet As - Erik Irmisch roadtrippin’ through New Zealand – Part 2
Teamrider Erik Irmisch already told you about his adventures in Rotorua in part 1 of his New Zealand travel blog. Well, as if we weren’t jealous enough yet, he’s now telling us his stories about his visit at ‘Dayzero’ in Taupo and his quests in Queenstown. Check it out:
After a great time in Rotorua we made our way to YTs partner ‘Dayzero’ in Taupo. We were warmly welcomed with hot coffee and cake and after a nice chitchat we’ve been shown around the building. Knowing that we will meet these guys at Crankworx Rotorua a few weeks later we said goodbye and left for Wellington to catch the ferry to the south island.
As soon as the ferry arrived in Picton we started our 10 hours trip straight to Queenstown, but the prospect of awesome trails and the Skyline Bikepark kept us going. After a brief stop in Christchurch and beautiful Lake Pukaki we arrived at the house of Eddie Masters, Matt Walker & Co. Good times were guaranteed with this crazy crew, so we spent our time not only on our mountain bikes but also with pit bikes and legendary parties.
Besides the famous Skyline Bikepark there are also some amazing trails around Queenstown, for which the uphills are definitely worth it. For example the Salmon Run:
After great times in New Zealands #1 destination we made our way back up to Rotorua for Crankworx. Stay tuned for more in part 3 of our trip to New Zealand.
